What sets Travel Round America apart from other companies providing exchange student travel experiences?
The size of our tour groups are limited to no more than 50. We stay at nicer hotels in nicer venues. Each person gets their own bed—no sharing with a stranger. The food is great, our service is great and the experience we provide is fantastic.
How do I book a tour?
1. Email Travel Round America to make sure the tour you want is not filled.
2. Get permission from your host family, school and exchange program to travel.
3. Fill out and return the Reservation Form with a $150 deposit to reserve a spot on your tour. You will receive an confirmation email when Travel Round America has received your Reservation Form and deposit.
4. Complete the Permission Form and send it to Travel Round America at least 30 days before your tour begins with the remaining balance of the tour payment.
*Each trip requires a minimum of 35 participants for a trip to be confirmed. A confirmation email will be sent the day after your trip sign up deadline letting you know if there are enough people for your trip. Do not purchase an airline ticket until we have confirmed your trip.
5. Purchase an airline ticket. For best rates, do this at least 30 days in advance. You may sign up late, if there is still room on the tour, but your airline ticket may cost more.
Who chaperones the trips?
Every tour is chaperoned by 2-4 qualified Travel Round America Team Members. Every one of our chaperones has had a background check is certified in CPR and is licensed by Travel Round America to safely lead student trips.
What's included?

What are my payment options?
You can pay for your tour and airline ticket with VISA, Mastercard, check, travellers checks, money order and cashier's checks. DO NOT SEND CASH.
A 5% surcharge is added to all credit card payments made to Travel Round America.
Can I pay in installments?
Once you have paid your $150.00 deposit you can send the remaining tour payment in $100 - $150 installments. Please remember that all tours must be paid in full 30 days before the tour date.
Who purchases my airline tickets?
You can book your own airfare with a local travel agency, the internet or with Travel Round America. Do not wait until the last minute to buy your airline ticket. They are more expensive that way. For cheaper fares book your flight at least 30 before your tour begiins. You must arrive and depart from the designated airport at the specified times.
Remember, do not purchase your airline ticket until you have received a trip confirmation email from us informing you that your trip is taking place.
What about Roommates?
On all of our tours the rooms are triple occupancy. This means you will have two roommates (all the same gender). If you do not have two friends you want to share a room with, don't worry. Most of the students on tours don't know anybody before they arrive. We will room you with other fun students. If your Permission Form arrives after the deadline we cannot guarantee your request(s).
Can I bring a friend?
Yes. You will receive a $25 discount for both you and the friend(s) you bring.
Will my money be refunded if I cancel my tour?
If you cancel more than 45 days before the tour date you will receive a full refund less a $75 processing fee.
If you cancel between 30-45 days before the tour you will receive a full refund less $150.00 processing and cancellation fee.
If you cancel between 1-30 days before the tour date your money will not be refunded.
Refunds on your airline tickets are your responsibility. You will need to contact the airline directly. Most tickets are non-refundable.
Travel Round America recommends that you investigate purchasing travel cancellation insurance in the event that you need to cancel your trip. There are many plans available through companies on the internet.
Does Travel Round America work with local coordinators?
We encourage local coordinators to participate with their exchange students and groups. Please inquire about discounts for groups of ten or more students.
